This scene unfolded along the shores of the Chobe River in Botswana, Africa. The baby African Bush Elephant (Loxodonta africana) was born just before this video was taken. The baby lay still in the sand for a very long time while the huge legs and trunks of family members formed an impenetrable barrier to predators.
